Albert Gordon
August 2, 1927 - July 5, 2020
Dr. Albert Gordon, 92, a dentist in Middletown for 37 years, passed on July 5th 2020 after a long illness. He was loved and respected by family, friends, patients and colleagues, admired for his intellect and compassion. Brooklyn born and educated at Yeshiva Etz Chaim, Erasmus High School, and he then went on to NYU after serving in the Navy. Dr. Gordon received his D.M.D from Tufts University In 1954. He was held in great esteem in the dental profession and received many honors as an innovator and educator, one of the first dentists to introduce the concept of saving teeth, using implants and cosmetic restorations, to Monmouth County, lecturing in New Jersey, Israel and in South America. Dr. Gordon was again recognized by being inducted into the International Academy of General Dentistry. A man of many interests and talents, he was able to pursue them during his retirement. He was a founding member of Quest/C.C.N.Y. Lifelong Learning in New York, where he was an active member and lectured in courses of economics, world politics and art, and later he discovered his own talents in stone sculpture. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sandy, his sister Shirley Zelkind, his sons and their wives, Dr. Eric and Jill Gordon, Dr. Marc and Celine Gordon, Scott and Denise Gordon, and he took great pride in his 7 grandchildren, “all extraordinary”; Evan, Allison, Danielle, Nicole, Alexandra, Eli, and Abigail. Due to Covid 19, there will be no Shiva and a private funeral service will be held graveside at the Congregation B’nai Israel Cemetery.
